SopCast lets you freely and efficiently watch and broadcast audio and video streams, listen to radio stations all over the world, watch TV stations, get Videos on Demand.
It uses Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology and is very easy to learn and to use, not needing a server neither large bandwith. It allows you to create TV stations (your own stations) and broadcast your programs, audio and video, with minimal system resources
It includes 3 components to accomplish its functionality:
Live Channels.- China, Korea and Japan streaming TV channels.
VoD feature.- Is a Video on Demand function for VoD channels.
MyServer.- Allows you to work as a TV station and bradcast audio and video from your computer to all the other users with SopCast installed on their PCs.
The users can log in without revealing their identifications (anonymously) or create an account with SopCast, required to distribute your own content on the net.
System requirements:
Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Linux.
64M RAM System Memory (minimum), 128M recommended.
10M free HD space.
Microsoft Media Player 9.0 or later, RealPlayer or other media player which can play streaming.
Advantages:
- Good for users with SopCast installed (necessary, by the way). Access to many TV oriental stations.
Disadvantages:
- The feature Video on Demand is slow and sometimes it crashes the system.
